I've noticed that a lot of German cars have fantastically powerful heated seats. I live in the Midwest (STL area) and have family members with a 2013 Tiguan and 2007 A4 Cabrio. Both cars have very strong seat heaters that I normally have to turn down once I get them heated up on the highest setting. The A4's in particular need to be turned down after just a short time.

In contrast, my 09 Civic's heated seats are just alright. They've got a "HI" and "LO" setting, but after reading the manual, the two positions aren't as self-explanatory as they seem. HI will heat the seats up quickly but turn off once a certain temperature is reached. LO is meant to heat the seats continuously and keep them warm after they've been warmed up. I basically have to put them on HI and wait until I feel them start to cool down, then change them to LO, which doesn't always keep the seat as low as I'd like. It's a bit frustrating and I'm glad that Honda/Acura is (to the best of my knowledge) the only manufacture that uses a system like this.
