You might not think to compare a 2015 Jaguar F-Type to a Chevrolet Corvette, but there are in fact a lot of similarities.

This post says more for the Corvette than the Jag. When ever someone does a comparison the item that is being compared to usually sets the benchmark.

Does the Vette with slush box get plastic shift paddles or is that exclusive to the Jag?

Much of the media coverage regarding the Jaguar F-Type has focused on the models powered by the supercharged V-8. It would be great to hear more about the base models powered by the 340 hp supercharged V-6. These models will be more affordable and offer a greater value proposition for sports car enthusiasts.

Also....in addition to being more affordable, models powered by the supercharged V-6 will have a lower curb weight and less weight over the front axle.

And, you can get a manual with the V6 Jag for 2015.

Thank you for the feather-ruffling comparison. Edmunds is usually hesitant to mention two cars in the same breath when they historically target different parts of the market. When you had the Juke and Countryman in the long-term fleet you never mentioned them in the same post even though they had some legitimate similarities. Same thing when you had the CLA in the long term fleet. Never mentioned it in the same breath as the Mazda3 even though they are both compact FWD cars with the emphasis on handling. You do bring up the A3 and the GTI but they are so closely related you can't help but do so. But let's see some more adventurous comparisons. How about the Macan and the Rogue (or the Cherokee)? The Mini Cooper and the Mazda3? People don't usually cross-shop these cars but there are similarities and there might be some things that the "lesser" car does better than the more premium one. This could be interesting and informative.
