2008 Lincoln Navigator Downshifts With A Jerk

Hi,
When slowing down or stopping,my 2008 2x4 navigator downshifts with a jerk(not smooth). I had the transmission oil checked it was ok,. It starts and accelerates fine.
Any thoughts? is this the sign of a transmission going bad?
