    The engine is way more capable than the transmission, that's why it never feels strained. The ZF transmission can't handle a lot of weight. The Diesel engine, on the other hand, could easily handle a couple of more thousand pounds above what Ram says is the max towing for this truck. This truck's max tow rating is about the same as the Chevy Colorado, a smaller truck with a gas V6.

    Truck rated to tow 9200lbs. Colorado rated for 7000lbs. Maybe you should stick to Hondas?
