Navigation system - startup time & map updates disappointing
My nav. system sometimes takes ages to find satellites and show me my location - from 3 to 10 minutes. Cannot do any navigation with it until after this time. Anyone else noticed this?
map database updates: The Mazda web site states maps are updated twice a year (confirmed by email). The only date for the maps database I could find was in the DBVersion file of the backup; I received the car with version 2013Q2; the Mazda tools software updated it to 2013Q4 (checked again in Jan 2015 and it said my system was up to date). There are at least 3 major US highways in my area of IN which have segments that have been open for over 16 months which do not show up at all on these maps, which leads me to suspect that the dates represent reality - i.e. over a year old information. Does anyone have later maps? Or know anything about the versioning, etc? (Google maps on my phone took less than 2 months to update their maps with these highways.)
