    Many of my college friends spent more on their stereo systems than their cars. But you can't put a rusty beater with a good running engine on the road for cheap anymore. Well maybe down South where they don't even inspect them you still can. But with mandatory insurance and strict emissions and safety inspections you can't. I remember having some pretty bald tire on my high school cars, now it the corners are worn a little they don;t pass inspection.
