How to program remote locks to not chirp horn
We just bought my wife a super clean, low miles '07 Aspen, which we love except for one annoying issue. The manual gives very clear instructions on how to program the remote keyless entry so that the horn does NOT honk when the doors are locked/unlocked. Following the steps as outlined, I reach the step to reset. I reset it to disable the horn but it doesn't get implemented. The horn still honks every time the doors are locked either with the remote or with the lock button on the door. All other options work fine.
If anyone has a solution for this, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

1. Press and hold the LOCK button on the key fob.
2. After holding the LOCK button for four seconds, also press the PANIC button within 6 seconds.
3. Release both buttons at the same time.
If your model has an Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) in the roof, maybe that's over-riding the remote.
Do you just have the one fob? Only thing else I can thing of is to put a new battery in it or try to check the contacts of the button(s) in the fob.
The factory default chirp sound be outlawed....
