Fuel gauge ground?

my Montana fuel guage was working ok , both tail lights were burnt along with the connectors I replaced both tail lights and connectors now the gas guage shows past full I even made sure they had good ground connections any ideas what would cause this problem?

    now have a new problem with the gas guage, when the tank starts getting low the dash guage starts moving down but still past the full mark when we put gas in it burries the needle past full? fuel guage circuit board in the dash?

    tried the connector the plugs look good unhooked both just in case but it didn't do any good
