    the energy released by any collision is limited to the chemical/potential energy content and mass of the things which collide. so it's not going to be as bad as worst-case collision of two petroleum powered vehicles. because the energy capacity (range) is less for a hydrogen or electric car than for a petroleum-fueled car.
