Jaguar XK8 timing chain broke

Well I just had my chain break. Half way between tucson and phoenix.

The mechanic wants $7500! My 2001 XK8 is done.

This car is in great shape tires have 10,000 mile on it. Don't know if its worth it. Anybody have any ides?
Or should I sell it for parts

    You can't buy a new one for that, and out there one would expect the body to be very clean compared to one the same age in the rust belt.
