Intermittent Air Bag light problem

Hi everyone, first time poster, long time lurker. I'm hoping to get some advice from you all about an ongoing issue. Two years ago, a mechanic friend replaced the front rack and pinion and in the process damaged the clock spring (I'm assuming). I found this out because after a week or so the airbag light started going off and on, and the horn started to sound like it was going through a slow and painful death...until one day it just died altogether.

I had the clock spring replaced and all was fine. BUT! Recently, the air bag light started going off and on again. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. The horn DOES operate. In fact sometimes, the air bag light goes off when I hit the horn (but not always, it's totally random).

Any ideas where I should be looking? Could the replaced clock spring be going out? I already had the recalled air bag switch replaced about 4 years ago. Thanks for any suggestions!
