Help with Selecting an SUV or Minivan

I have a total of 7 members in my family (me, my wife, and 4 children). I was trying to decide if I should purchase an SUV or mini van. I have a long commute to work (about 70 miles round trip), and that's not counting errands, and activities with the kids. Prior to making a decision on what vehicle to purchase, I'm seeking any advice, or opinions that you may provide.
