Envoy XUV Rear roof won't close.

I opened the rear roof on my Envoy XUV and now it will not close now. The DIC shows "SEE MANUAL-TAILGATE." The owners manual says to reset the window but this can't be done with the roof open. What is the issue and how do I fix this?

    If the latch is tripped closed, you will have to manually pull it open while operating the release. Pressure from the glass on its seal is what allows it to move to the open position as you open the window.

    Not sure if we're talking about the same thing. The glass is all the way down, and the roof is already all the way open.

    Sorry, I didn't understand what vehicle this is and got stuck on the word tailgate and didn't realize you were referring to the full retractable roof system. Beyond a TSB to inspect for wires chafing where the jack is stored you really can't do anything with this system efficiently without a GM TechII scan tool. The scan tool has the ability to display the switch commands so that you can see if the system see's those inputs and you can also use bi-directional controls to over-ride portions of it for testing.
