Looking at the numbers, the commentary and then the price illustrate how clueless Nissan is with this car. The first generation Murano virtually created the segment of the mid-size crossover. It had unique styling to be sure but it was also uniquely sized, uniquely powerful and pretty nice to drive. Its CVT was unusual at the time but it was a fairly decent first effort. Here we are 2 generations later and Nissan has lost it's way with this car. In some ways they made it irrelevant with the Rogue's growth in size and the Pathfinder's transition to a car-based platform. So now the Murano is a style exorcize only and it's an expensive one at that. This is sad to see. BTW, they did the same thing to the Maxima. The Altima grew and became a really solid mid-sized sedan. So they turned the Masima into a highly stylized, more expensive Altima. The result is that the Maxima which was once a well-known, desirable car became largely irrelevant. It looks like the same thing has happened to the Murano.

What has happened to the Murano? It became a kill-joy car with all these nanny-technologies preventing it from ever doing any play.

It weights about the same as the Mustang GT
