Loose roof moulding

My daughter's 2008 Corolla has a loose roof moulding, the front end pops up from time to time.

The clip that is attached to the roof is present but "adjusting" it has not solved the problem. Could it be that there once was a clip attached to the bottom of the moulding?

Any insight or help in dealing with problem would be greatly appreciated
