2009 Chevy Impala. 68,000 miles. 'Service Traction Control'/reduced power/engine light
In my 2009 Chevy Impala with 68,000 miles the 'Service Traction Control' and engine light come on. It will also flash reduced power to engine with this happens. I will also lose my cruise control. It does not stay on all the time and sometimes just the engine light. All lights were off and everything was fine for several days. Now this morning it happened again but then it said shutting throttle down and I lost all power. I pulled over. Shut of the car and tried to restart. It didn't start at first. I waited a minute or so as I was only a mile from work. It started and I was able to drive it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have only had this car 3 months and have changed the alternator and a broken wire from ignition to shifter. It is very disappointing because several members of my family including myself have owned Impalas for years with no trouble.

I believe I've seen about 5 different causes for the issue, throttle body (replacement if cleaning doesn't work) or connection to it, something with gas pedal perahps, fuel pump replaced in one instance, but in any case the code or codes is needed to try and find fix.5
