Honda Mid-Size Pickup

Well, it is no longer just a rumor anymore, Honda is joining the truck market. With Nissan and Honda offering pickups I expect the Korean brands will be entering the pickup market also. It's getting competitive!

    I understand it will be unibody. Its not a truck unless it has a chassis.

    Sounds like it more of a car like vehicle.

    There is no requirement for a truck to have a frame that I know of? Can you provide the source of the frame requirement for truck classification?

    The only uni-body "trucks" I remember were the Subaru Brat and a Volkswagon.Brat wasn't marketed so much as a truck as it was a "multi-purpose"vehicle.Neither sold well and are extinct now as I predict the Honda will be soon.
    Why?
    Uni-bodies don't generally carry heavy loads well.Put a fridg in it and it'll break!

    I have an Odyssey, and it's a wonderful vehicle for what it's designed for. Honda sounds like it's making a "truck" for the weekend warrior who runs to Home Depot for a couple of 2x4s, hits the dump, and tows a 1500 lb pop up camper a few times a year - competition to the Toyota/Nissan crowd, maybe nibble a bit at F150 sales. I sincerely doubt this'll be a Working Truck like my F350, V10, 4x4, CC, but I bet it'll cost as much, if not more, with less practicality, much less payload, and bunch of yuppie gee-gaws that you don't need in a pick-up Knowing Honda though, they've probably come up with something unique and will redefine the market. Hopefully it'll at least knock off Chevy Avalanche and its mutant cousins

    Hideous. It'll never work. The big tough Chevy, Ford and Dodge guys will block dealerships.

    They will also sit there, and drink coffee discussing which Big 3 truck is better...
