    Umm... of course it did. Its a Volvo. That'd be like saying "Honda makes a reliable vehicle!" or "The Corvette is fast!". If a Volvo DIDN'T get the highest safety rating, that would be a very big deal.

    Agreed kirkhilles1 - and as a side note, with Volvo's spectacular seats, you'll be as comfortable as possible DURING the crash...

    I can tell you that the 2012 S60 I had, was able to stop an out of control 2002 Ford Explorer that jumped over the center of the road and hit me head on. The car was completely destroyed but every part of the passenger compartment was intact and I was able to open the drivers door and get out of the car. I have absolutely no doubt that in most cars sold today I would have been gravely injured or dead. I bought another Volvo and I encourage anyone who is considering one to do the same thing.
