Catalytic converter clogged?

Hi I have a 2004 Impala SS and it seems to be running sluggish, not with the same power it had when i got it. I was told the it good be the catalytic converter probably needs to be unclogged that would cause it to run sluggish. Does anyone else know anything about this issues? Thanks

    That would be highly unlikely. I would seek a second opinion.
