Explorer 1997. Can my automatic be made to shift without the computer?

My son just placed his carbureted engine with a non stock cam in my explorer, but it does not have the kick down etc because the engine runs without the computer...is there a fix

    No you would have to change to a older transmission it would be practical to install the correct motor .
