Driving Dynamics - Camry Hybrid

I am considering a 2007 Camry Hybrid. I noticed that while cruising at highway speed, the car does not drive smoothly. When getting on the gas or coming off of it, it sort of jerks and searches for the new speed. When driven with cruise control it is quite smooth. I can't seem to get it to drive smoothly otherwise. Any thoughts?
