GMC Sierra fuel problems
I have a 1998 GMC Sierra with an automatic transmission and a V6 engine. I bought it at an auction, I drove it home and around town for a while and it seemed to run great. One morning I went to start it and it wouldn't start, it would turn over but that was about it. I took it to my local mechanic who checked the fuel pressure, then the fuel pump, then all the vacuum lines and a few other things, then he checked the injectors. He said they looked pretty bad and replaced them. After all that the truck would start but had a poor idol, and when you gave it a little gas it would stall. So then he checked the gas itself. When he drained the gas he said it was almost a milky color, as to whether it smelt bad or not he didn't say and I didn't think to ask. Anyway they drained all the milky gas out of it and put 10 gallons of clean gas in it and started it up and it seemed to run fine. He took it for a drive through the country side and said it was running pretty so I picked it up yesterday and drove it home. This morning I needed to go somewhere so I figured I'd use the pickup. It started just fine, I let it run for 5 minutes or so then put it drive, gave it a little gas and it died, I started it again, put it drive pushed on the gas peddle and it began to choke on me so I let off the gas pedal and it sounded better but as soon as I gave it a little gas it would cough and sputter and then finally run well. It did this little song and dance number at every intersection. I am at a loss as to what to look for, it runs like a carborated when its flooded, but this pickup is fuel injected. Please help. Thanks, ktemaque
