my car was recently stolen. when recovered, it had tons of marijuana in it.The cops asked me to get it cleaned, vaccuumed and shampooed. Is that going to work. my car is brand new and I do not want my kid to be exposed to drugs...Help

There is a new household air freshener that my wife uses on my sweaty ole hockey equipment after each game that seems to do the trick it's called Frebreeze, try that and then leave windows closed, see what happens.

Where do you live that your car was stolen and used for drug smuggling ????

Atleast I am glad that the car wasnt damaged. I still have to check it with the mechanic though

I would remove the seats and shampoo the carpeting and seats. After watching cops the little buggers hide their stash in or under the seats.

I would suggest taking it to a professional detailer to have the car cleaned and deordorized.

...called an ionizer, that supposedly can wipe out any bad smell in a car. I first heard of it back in 1998, when I bought an ex-police car from a dealership that fixes them up and sells them to the public. They said they used the ionizers on K-9 units to get rid of the dog smell, and it works perfectly. I think they're expensive to rent, though.

If you have insurance turn it in to them have the interior cleaned and shampooed. Have them remove the seats and clean under them as well. Make sure to explain to them why you want the seats removed and explain how important it is to you to have the car completely clean.

look under the kickpanels, you might take up the thresholds and see if the druggies were running anything like coke or crank under the carpet. they just caught a bunch of crank runners in Fargo, ND that ran a detail shop and packed meth into every service cavity a car had, on dozens and dozens of cars.

I second the notion that the insurance company supervise a total cleaning of the vehicle, and have them bring the cops and a drug K9 out to approve the vehicle before accepting it back.

I personally would ask to have the vehicle totalled if it was mine. and I would hector the insurance company to get in line behind the government for recovery against the damn dealers, and do everything possible to get the boot put in against the thugs.

but the car is 2002 camry xle and I really would not want it totalled unless insurance guys think so. I will get it checked (delayed because of the damn snow) and hopefully will have it running soon.

Of the Cheech and Chong movie, "Up in Smoke"

I wonder what the interior of that '64 Impala smelled like? :)
