GMC Yukon - transmission issues

2003 Yukon 202+ miles the truck hasn't been driven for some time yesterday i get on the highway the truck drives normal and then the gears started to act like they where in neutral. i took my foot of the gas let the truck cruise then acceleration it stated to jerk like it was a stick shift. but then i'm noticing the rpm gauge was to the max. and the check engine light was flashing. help me
