Should I replace my 2004 Sienna's transmission?

Have 2004 Sienna with 167,000 miles on it. Just found out it needs new transmission. We've maintained it well and it's in good shape otherwise. Hoping it would last until May 2018 when youngest child graduates from college. Wondering whether it makes sense to replace the transmission on such an old car with so many miles.

In my area a car like that is currently selling at a dealer's lot for $5,000....what's the cost of a new or rebuilt transmission?

Thanks for the response, raybear. We've been quoted $2,800-$3,400 for a rebuilt transmission.
