2006 M35x door won't open

Neither the outside nor inside door handle will open the door. How can I remove the interior panel while the door is closed? Or, how can I "slim-jim" through the window opening to get the door open? The interior lock moves as expected, but neither handle seems to be attached to the interior mechanism.

You should be able to slim jim to open it. Obviously something let loose
