The safety rating is nice, but no car that is likely to dump you on the side of the freeway with no warning can be considered safe. Kia has consistently refused to deal with problematic designs since the inception of their company.

Take a moment and google "Kia Crankshaft Pulley Bolt" for an example. Kia knew of a major design flaw in their product that would disable power steering and other vital systems with no warning. It was caused by a five dollar part that took a few minutes to change out. They recalled it in a small fraction of the effected vehicles and left the rest of the people who owned them sitting on time bombs.

The best case for their customers in this situation was a new engine, but Kia does not care. As soon as you buy this vehicle, Kia ceases to take care of you. They have your money, and that was the only goal.
