    Good post. A long trip -- especially one with steep grades -- can make anyone into a CVT convert. Although I never needed a big engine...the Nissan 2.5 was enough for me.

    Have to say I have also had good experiences with CVTs in Nissan and Toyota rental cars. Best example was the latest Corolla where the CVT model was vastly superior to one with the 4-speed slushbox.
