Yeah, no, I will never use maps that come with a vehicle nav system and here's why. A year or so ago my family was camping in the Sierra's and I used google maps on my cell phone to guide us to the campground. It guided us there without any problems. One the way back, my wife used the maps in our 2012 Odyssey with the 2013 or 2014 maps. It took us on an adventure on a one lane, gravel road that took us twice as much time to get home. I'm surprised, and thankful, that we made it back because there were some parts of the road that were really interesting. This road started out looking like a normal road but at about 1 mile in, got progressively worse, so it's not like we made a decision to go down this dirt road. Never again, Honda.

They perfected it just in time to be replaced by Apple CarPlay. And Hyundai is one of the first adopters, too!

In urban areas I think in-car satnavs work just fine. I like the integration with the audio system and the using the large built in display. However, for any rural travels, I would always consult a backup to make sure the directions are legit.
