    In the traditional car buying mode, you can schedule a test drive on your lunch break. Make it clear you only have an hour. Have the dealer appraise your car while you test drive. Then get their initial offer upon return and complete negotiations via email or phone. As for shortening finance, that's a tough one. I have told dealers I had no interest in an extended warranty or rust proofing prior to signing, yet I still got the hard sell.

    Best experience I ever had was a Honda dealer in SC. They did everything over the phone. Gave me a fair price right away for new car and for my trade. They delivered my new car to my house and we signed the paperwork in my kitchen. They drove my trade-in away. It was fantastic.
