Possible hidden incentives 2015 Lexus NX200t

There must be some unlisted incentives or cashback going around on NX200t, at least in MA, Boston area. Check with your local dealers - if they have more than 5 NX200t on the lot, you may get some decent discount. From my own experience:
  • Simple inquiry to Dealer #1 yielded 10% off MSRP on 43k+ car before any negotiation. The car had Navi package, Comfort Package, Premium and bunch of other goodies (No Luxury package).
  • A quick test-drive visit to Dealer #2 in my town yielded 1.5k discount plus they valued my trade-in 5k over CarMax. After quick back and force the total discount ended up being over 7k off MSRP.
  • The Dealer #3 also offered 4k off MSRP after the quick inquiry on 43K+ car (with offer to pick any NX from their lot that I like)
I ended up buying from Dealer #2. After the test drive all communications were via email. There was no hidden deals or financing pressure. It took me 2 days to realize we wanted this car over Acura RDX. Within this period of time they sold almost all Atomic Silver NX's they had with us picking up the last non-F sport off their lot.

My trade-in was 2008 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring with almost 115k miles on it and damaged rear bumper. The local CarMax valued the car at 7k and Acura dealer nearby offered me 6k (along with sweet deal on 2015 RDX). AutoTrader value was 8.2k.

If you are after F-sport, the Dealer #2 was happy to provide the same discount on any F-sport they had in stock and they didn't have many.

    Curious as to why you went with the NX vs the RDX (2016?). I am looking at both but felt very confined by the NX.

    It's not exactly hidden but there is holdback on a Lexus (and most other brands).

    Thanks for the pointer. Lexus holdback according to that article is 2% which would knock off the deal $800 or so. The total discount including overpriced trade-in was around $7k which is pretty decent for Lexus. I am sure they had some other kind of back-office deal on the vehicle.

    If you feel confined, try to move the seats on NX all the way back - you will be surprised how much space it has. Besides, NX's bucket seats are way more comfortable than RDX's. Here are couple of other reasons:
    1) NX design beats RDX hands down both inside and out. RDX feels like 3 year-old mid-cycle model it is. NX is fresh and great looking.
    2) Due to price difference I was actually looking at 2015 RDX that had no BSM and parking assist options comparing to NX. 2016 RDX that's just started showing up on the lots has all these features but has no drastic discounts of 2015 and won't probably have any until September-October.
    3) Fuel economy. On paper the difference is drastic enough, but according to online forums people easily make 24-27 MPG on NX while 21-22 seems about average for RDX. Life will tell of course
    4) Acura multimedia interface feels really antiquated while Lexus touchpad was more convinient for me. I know some people can't stand the touchpad but both my wife and I find very convinient and well-executed.

    The funny thing is: I was driving to Acura dealer and passed Lexus on my way. I stopped on Lexus to inquiry about NX and since I was early to my appointment at Acura I took the test-drive. After the test-drive I was half-sold and after comparing features, design and fuel economy it was no brainer. The RDX is a really nice and well thought-out car. I wish Honda had refreshened the look and feel and maybe introduced that 4-banger turbo back to save on fuel.

    I am also in the market for an NX and life in the Boston area. Could I ask you why you chose not to go with the F sport model if the same deal was offered?

    Do you mind sharing which lexus dealer you purchased from?
