Floor mats

The rubber floor mats that came with my 00 Sierra
suck. They look bad and are hard to clean. Does
anyone know of a really good brand of carpeted
floor mats? I would like plush carpet (better than
the thin, cheap-like carpet that GMC has).

I know that it sounds like I am complaining alot,
but I really love my truck except for a few minor
items (carpet, mats, and visors).

Let me know of good carpeted mats.

Thanks,
Bill

I looked around at all the choices and selected Catch-All mats from Nifty (www.niftyproducts.com). They are carpeted on top with colors to match your truck but have a stiff inner body to hold the shape. They can hold mud/water/snow without leaking and be hosed off. They also seem to cover the most area.

I say all this but have yet to ever see a pair. I'll be ordering mine in a few weeks after my truck arrives. Many distributors carry them but the best place I've found is www.truckautoaccessories.com/rd/. The Nifty p/n is 600431 for graphite.

I have seen the mats at a local truck accessories shop, but they did not have the color for my truck. So I order a full set for a 2000 F-150 Ext. Cab. I really think they will do a great job of keeping all the mu and crap off of the carpet. I haven't found a nicer mat!

Where did you order them from? Have you received them yet?

    Bill,

The factory floor mats in my 99 Silverado lasted three days before I replaced them with a set of Catch-Alls. They are everything that vince4 says that they are. They are kept in place using a hook & loop piece on the back of the mat, and a matching plastic piece that goes under the door sill. Cleaning them is a breeze - just hose them off, and lean them against the wall to let the water drain out. They are also Scotch-Guarded.

They are not cheap, but are a worthy investment.

Personally, I like the McNeil Weathertech Cannon virgin rubber mats. They look great and hold a lot of dirt and liquid. The new interlocking rear mats for the Superduty crew cab are great.

Make all trucks with plastic or rubber floors to allow one to "hose out" their truck. Why is there carpet installed in trucks to begin with? I know it sounds primitive but doesn't it make more sense?

I was at our local one the other day and found some really nice mats for the money. The price was a "Rollback" from $8 to $5 each. They have nice 1/4" ? grooves in the rubber for catching debris and snow.
I only saw front mats in this style, not the rear. Saw tan, black, and I think gray.

Received my Catch All mats from Nifty today. They are quite nice. They fit well in the truck (2000 Silverado) and the color match is good (graphite). I like them better than others because they aren't just flat, they go up the center hump a few inches so the area your accelerator foot rests on is covered. Only problem is the vendor shorted me the velcro hold down pieces so I've asked for those.

Does the Catch-All mat protect the area to the left of the brake where a clutch would be on a manual? I rest my foot there when I'm driving. The floorboard has a lip and my foot usually hits the vertical part of that lip - that's the are that I'm most concerned with. On my 1986 Caprice the carpet has been worn away at that spot. I don't really want to pay the money for the Catch-All until I can either see one or hear good descriptions from people.

For my tan interior '99 Expedition I solved the
dilemma of which to purchase by buying the Catch
All's for the front seats and Husky Liners for
the back seats. For the front I wanted a more carpet-like mat, which the Catch All's provided
as well as - for the front at least - complete
coverage of the floor area. For the rear my priority was maximum coverage of the floor, given
the teenage passengers. The Husky Liners seemed
to cover more rear floor than the Catch Alls, so I
bought the Husky Liners for the rear. An added plus - the teenagers didn't seem to mind the rubber Husky Liners vs. the carpet-like Catchalls. Am happy with both and both match the tan well.
Had good prices and service from Automotive Accessories Connection via the web.

I just went and looked at that area in my 2000 Silverado. The Catch All mat does cover it pretty well. The mat is the full width of the floorwell area and goes about 3" up past the point where the floor changes from a gentle slope up to a sharp vertical angle. I'm not sure if that's what you meant by a "lip." It's a little hard to describe such shapes with words. To answer your question in general, it would be hard to put your foot anywhere that isn't covered by the mat (at least with my vehicle).
