According to the latest Motor Trend issue, it`s not only green-lit, but due to hit showrooms spring 2016 at a cost of $25k. As a repeat Kia / Hyundai owner, I will definitely be picking one of these up most likely.
  • hopefully they won't nix the extend-a-bed part of the concept, or it'll just end up another Subaru Brat, Baja, Envoy XUV, Chevrolet SSR... and it'll be a failure... and all the monster truck buyers will have another reason to tell us these kinds of vehicles will never sell. If I can't haul my mountain bikes or dirt bikes in the back, I'll have to just keep buying Tacomas... or some other gas guzzler. There are several vehicles similar to this that are built in Brazil that sell well. Unfortunately they don't comply with US safety and EPA requirements.

superglide, are you talking about the Chevrolet Montana (sold as Tornado in Mexico)? I think that was designed in Brazil.

I am also a multiple-time H/K owner and am replacing my leased 2013 Sonata this October. Leaning heavily toward the new Subaru Outback, but the 2016 Tucson is turning my head, as well. I have been in love with this SC since I saw it in Detroit, but had basically given up on seeing it in a reasonable time. If they announce by the end of the summer that this will be out next Spring, I've got some real decision-making to do!
