Gas Pedal on 2014 Grand Caravan

Is there any way to stiffen the gas pedal on my Grand Caravan?
Make it harder to depress?
I am partially disabled and use my left foot on the brake and right foot on gas pedal.
I find when I come to a stop sign the engine revs with my foot just resting on the pedal.
I have also found that even with my foot off the pedal entirely the engine will rev higher when I come to a stop.
The dealership said they couldn't do anything but I find that hard to believe, it's just a mechanical issue, I'm sure.

Hello! This may seem over simplified, but I would look at the gas pedal linkage under the dash and see if there isn't a rod that the pedal pushes on and a metal frame above it with a hole say about 8 inches to a foot above, perhaps in the dash mount frame. Then visit a hardware store and look over their selection of small diameter lengthy springs, find one that seems to provide the acceptable amount of pressure when stretched and hook it up. Since it would be applying release pressure and not application I can't see any potential safety issue. May not be the answer, but something to consider. Good luck!

    Thank you
I'll try that, more or less what we had come up with as well.
