2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
  • blower motor resistor has recently been replaced (part $55). Easy part to replace but jeep parts does not warranty electrical parts (as states on receipt).
  • It functioned perfectly for a few weeks and then failed again.
  • Only runs on top speed (4 of 4).

Is the connector burnt or discolored ? sounds like a bad connection causing high resistance . that will burn out resistor .

    Hi LarryB,

Got a new resistor , this time with the connector, as the factory original was burnt on two outer leads. now working fine. the newer resistor was mail ordered and mfgrd by Dorman... noted to be of a better quality with less chance of burnout. we shall see.

i think the first replacement resistor i got from Jeep may still be useable and will keep as spare. As long as was in there replacing it i thought it best to put in a new one.

    169k and going strong

PS just installed an aftermarket set of Spyder fog lights.... a little challenge here and there but it went well. probably should have installed the factory kit but it was 3x the price. albeit it is prewired vs. the Spyder kit which has its own harness. also the factory unit must(?) be "programmed" by Jeep tech for $$$. had to located dual rocker switch approx where right calf is near the a/c supply along console down toward gas pedal. rocker switch to tall to fit in console panel.
