"And let's not forget the two-wheel-drive Rebel, which is perhaps the most capable and complete example of that subspecies. There's no such thing as a rear-wheel-drive Tundra TRD Pro or Ford Raptor."

    For good reason.

Anyway, while I'm sure this is a fine pickup, that hokey grille isn't doing anybody any favors.

It's amusing that you can get the Rebel in 4x2 configuration. You pay all that extra money for the offroad-specific hardware, and you accept all its compromises in onroad handling, but then you render it completely worthless offroad by deleting 4wd. So it looks tough but it isn't. Talk about an "I'm compensating for something" truck.

I do not like the grill either but I have read on other sources that the stock grill will bolt right in. I would assume that would be the same for any other custom Ram grills available. I like this truck. I do not need the size and do not want to pay the cost of a Power Wagon or Raptor (too wide and tall and too thirsty). Funny thing is, I drive the forgotten truck (Nissan Titan Pro 4x) and I have the same clearance and better approach and departure than a Rebel raised on its tippy toes by the air suspension. I also have a locking rear differential and 33' tires, which I went from the standrard BFG Rugged Trails to ATs. Hope the new Titan keeps these features...

No comparison to the Raptor? Not a worthy competitor??? I'd be curious to see how the two compare in a head-to-head run-off!

I think the issue is that the Rebel slots between the FX4 and Raptor. For real world purposes (working in the woods, agriculture, going hunting) the Rebel would be a better tool than an FX4 or Z71. For recreational four wheeling and blasting through the desert at silly speeds and showing off how cool you are you would want a Raptor and the Rebel would come up short by that measure.
