Beware Touchscreen Freezing Issue in 2015 Prius V

edited June 2015 in Toyota
I bought a 2015 Prius V Four on June 12, 2015 after my 2014 Prius V Five was Totaled in an accident after being dropped of for Service at another dealership (true story and for a different post). I do love the car but three days later, the Touch Screen intermittently started freezing. This is a problem known to Toyota. I don't know why there is not a recall...the Service Department will not act on it because they cannot duplicate the error. I'll be sure to video this next time it happens. I should have researched better...Anyone else with this issue?

I have exactly that problem. You have to turn off the car and reboot the screen to get the screen to respond, makes it difficult to retune the radio to say the least. It's much worse in hot weather. Toyota knew about it since April when they published a bulletin to dealers. I was told it would take 2 to 3 months to get a replacement screen, coming up on 3 months and nothing. I am angry, I've heard nothing from Toyota about it yet my Prius, I was told, was registered for the replacement part, AND it was a known problem when I bought the car. Stuff happens, Toyota could have been up front about it and at least apologized.

I did at least get the car into the dealer while the screen was unresponsive, they checked it out and said, Yup. I sense a LOT of Prius' have that problem, suspect a serious parts problem for Toyota, but, they've handled it badly, shame on them.
