    I still like the idea of having a dedicated "put your negative cable here" concept even when the battery is right there. I always spend forever trying to get a "good ground" when jump starting and never succeed and just do what I'm not supposed to do and hook up both sets to the negative terminals which is dangerous. I'm no electrical engineer but I don't see why you would ever need to put it on the terminal directly if this was done this way.
