I work at a Honda dealer and I am very familiar with this recall. I sold a 2003 Accord last year and the customer asked about it. We print CARFAX reports for all of our pre-owned vehicles. I explained flat-out that it had not been done because parts were not available but that he could come in as soon as they were. He agreed and took delivery. He came back a week later (the recall had gotten more serious in the week since he purchased) and was all ticked off saying that we sold him a car with a recall.

Some people are ignorant. We pointed it out on the CARFAX report and he knowingly took delivery of it. This recall sucks bigtime but we're all just trying to get through it. Fortunately parts are more readily available and the repair doesn't take too long.

My '03 Ram 1500 has a passenger side inflator recall pending. Likewise, no replacement parts are currently available.

Amazing your Dodge dealer was able to get you the part that quickly. Ford has not even bothered to send letters to owners yet because there are no parts available for dealers to install. If a Ford owner logs into their account, they can see the recall notice but again, doesn't matter. My dealer has told me they have no idea when parts are coming and that I (as the owner) will probably get notice before they (as the dealer) do.
