    As long as ridiculously-unrealistic comparisons like this are promoted (which might be expected from this routinely less-than-knowledgeable correspondent), it will only fuel the negative sentiments of those deriding the tC for being something it's not. The FR-S is a pure, 2-seat (truly) sports car, while the Fiesta ST and VW GTI are high-performance versions of the standard models which the tC might more-accurately be compared to, when somewhat-similarly equipped.
