You missed the best option between these 2 devices. I skipped the $2000 nav option, but bought the $500 parts at the dealership for the Garmin add-on. It gives you a Garmin Nuvi, a new dash piece with a nice looking mount (in the same place the factory Nav sits), connectors for power behind the dash (no dangling cables or tied-up cigarette ligher socket) and a remote antenna that tucks up at the base of the windshield for better satellite views. It took me 1-2 hours of fiddling with the panels to install, but I get the great Garmin interface, updated maps and a Nav system that I can hide from view when I park the car downtown.
