Car Ignition issue

I've noticed a peculiar problem with my caddi if the car is cold it starts right up with one turn of the key. However if I stop it at say the grocery store and do some shopping I have to turn the key multiple times to get it to start. But if I drive it to work where it sits till my shift is over again 1 turn to start. So it seems if the car was recently ran I have to turn the key a few times to start. If it hasn't been ran for a while then it starts upon the first turn. So where would I begin to look to fix this issue?
