Dangerous / unusable climate controls

It amazes me how Lincoln persists with those tiny little push-buttons for its heating & ventilation controls. This is astonishingly poor design.

Drivers have to take their eyes off the road and peer down the center console to even find the right button, let alone adjust it to their needs. How on earth can this be safe? The buttons used in the center console of the MKX are even worse.

Seems to me that Lincoln doesn't understand the customer demographic that their products are aimed at. We 50-somethings and 60-somethings would prefer some big chunky round knobs for fan speed and temperature control, that are much easier to find and adjust safely.

To my amazement, Lexus and Acura are going down the same dangerous road with their own tiny push-button HVAC controls - but WHY?
