Can I use a transmission 99 Toyota RAV4 in a Toyota RAV4?

Hello I have a RAV4 2001 but the motor and the transmission are broken, someone is selling me a transmission 99 but I don't know if I ca use it, please if some one know let me know, thank you

    Hello! All the info I can find says that a 98, 99, and 2000 are compatible provided they have the same engine. Can find nothing that says you can interchange a 99 with a 2001. Of course my search results are not the all to end all. Ask a Toyota dealer service manager to look up the tranny that gos with each vehicle you are concerned with, and you will have a definitive answer.
