Tensioner is bouncing ...can it be due to any other reason ?

1989 gmc s15 2.5 liter

I know if tensioner is bad ...it can bounce while engine running

but can it be any other reason ....like something wrong with belt?

I checked all other pulleys and they dont have any play...

but tensioner is bouncing so I am trying to figure out if its tensioner or it could be something else?

    Nobody here can answer youfr question without seeing your car BUT...if your tensioner is really "bouncing" you better have it looked at before it comes loose. It can cause a LOT of damage if that happens!
