Two batteries?

My friend says his daughter's (away at college) car (from Grandma) has two 12v batteries... one under the hood, and another under the seat. My quick research only indicates under the seat. 2004 Buick Regal.

Could this be?? Two batteries?? Never heard of that in a standard passenger car... Can someone verify? Thanks!!

There's no battery here. There's a positive lead and terminal under the red cover on the passenger side
that shows a small box with the positive terminal to use for jumping the battery without having
to go into the back seat to jump the battery. There may be other relays and fuses under that cover
next to the red covered jumper terminal there.

No battery though.
