ESC light on but car not going into limp mode

2008 Kia Sedona approximately 108K miles .
CEL=check engine light ESC=electronic stability control light
A little over a month ago , was driving in mountains and CEL and ESC illuminated , as well as the vehicle going into limp mode . Pulled over , shut off and restarted . Vehicle ran fine but CEL still lit from codes . ESC was no longer lit .
I found out the codes (lean) were most likely from the air intake bellows . Replaced bellows and air filter , cleared codes and vehicle has run fine ever since .
Took van to Jiffy Lube for oil change and tire rotation . They lifted the car for a short time after the oil change but couldn't rotate the tires because of a stripped lug nut (for another topic/time) . Then it went through a car wash .
We get back in the car and the ESC light is illuminated . My wife figured the tech may have pressed it since it's in front of the shifter handle . She shuts off the car and restarts it , no light .
Later on in the afternoon after a couple stops (cycles) without the light coming on without any noticeable performance loss it illuminated again . It comes on , but will disappear with a restart . Then , it may stay off for awhile only to return . It seems to happen during braking . .
I checked for codes even though no CEL and nothing .
One other thing is I read somewhere that a faulty brake switch may be involved (??) , and there was a recall (that was never done on this vehicle) .
Am I looking at the TPS sensor ? If there is one , will an update to the ECU be in order ?
