Loud rattle in reverse?

2011 CX-9 Grand Touring with ~38K miles on it. Lately, we're hearing a loud "rattle" or metallic grinding noise when we put the car into reverse. Doesn't happen in any forward gear - just reverse, and it seems to be coming from the rear of the car, not from under the hood.

Any ideas?
