Safety concern

I owned srx 2012, had problem last night, suddenly jammed at stop sign, all traffics was honking at me, then start working after 5 min,when I shut down the engine and restarted. I am visiting Dallas from Roswell New Mexico.
What should I do?
I am very concerned about that, I'm traveling with small kids, worried about our safety what if it happen again on highway.
