Per the dealership I need a manifold and solenoid repair on my 2010 Chevy Cobalt.

Will the transmission have to be taken apart to repair the manifold Solenoid on the 2010 Chevy Cobalt?

OK, that helps. What is being referred to as a manifold is the "transmission fluid pressure manual valve position switch". The code has the computer identifying a problem with the switch circuit. The switch is an assembly of two switches and a temperature sensor that attaches to the valve body so that the transmission computer can see if solenoid commands have been accomplished as the computer commands different gears to be selected. It is a feed back signal to the computer and is serviceable by removing the side cover for access to the valve body.
The trouble is there are three general directions where a failure can occur and generate the same code(s). It could be that the assembly works correctly, and there is another issue that is causing the fluid pressure that the switches react to that is wrong. It could be that as the base description which asserts a wiring issue is occurring and making it appear that the switches are sending the wrong information. That could be an issue with one of the switches, hence the recommendation to replace the assembly at this time. That's as close as one can get without disassembling for access and testing further. After the switch assembly is replaced further testing may be needed to prove that it resolved the concern.5
